You have practical experience with mobile software development? You are motivated to apply all your knowledge in an open source project, to build a product for other developers, to learn and evolve together with a highly professional team? Great! We currently offer SDKs for the JVM (Java 8), Node JS and PHP and our e-commerce platform is used for many web shops. With your help, we want to bring it to Android. Support us to optimize our REST API for mobile use cases and offer a SDK for Android!

  • Implementation and testing of a SDK in Android
  • Working on GitHub projects with an Open Source process
  • Building demo apps based on this SDK
  • Working closely together with developers of the API and of other SDKs

  • Student of Informatics, Computer Science or Business Engineering (at least in the 5th semester)
  • Availability at least 4 weeks full-time during vacations (for start), later 10-20h/week
  • Practical experience in Android application development and solid knowledge of Java and Android APIs
  • References which pretty much speak for themselves (e.g. an app in the Play Store) ;-)
  • Understanding of REST and JSON, and knowledge of how to utilize REST APIs on Android
  • Fluent English for the work in international teams, German would be a plus
  • Good problem-solving abilities, as well as a structured, analytical and independent way of working
  • Team player with good communication skills
  • Aspiration to constantly improve and learn new technologies, concepts, etc.

  • Experience with agile software and/or open source development
  • Experience with Git and GitHub
  • Experience with publishing projects via MavenCentral
  • Experience with GraphQL or React Native
  • Experience designing REST APIs

  • Collect practical experience while you study
  • Produce open-source software
  • Flexible (exam friendly) work hours
