Professional Service Support Engineer


candena is a social education service provider that is changing the way corporations train, educate and recruit their talent. For this purpose we are using the global learning approach Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) and are adapting it to the needs of companies, institutions and organizations for their internal educational programs. We have built the first white label MOOC platform and were chosen as the official platform provider for the online course of internationally acclaimed architect Daniel Libeskind which is operated by world-known academic experts in the US and Europe.


Job profile


You are an experienced engineer with strong focus on implementing customer solutions and providing high-quality technical support; all this through the communication, problem solving and effective communication with all the stakeholders.You have good analytical and technical background helping you to analyse, prioritise and escalate individual requests and communicate them within the company. The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:

  • At least 5 years of experience supporting enterprise software products

  • Be passionate about providing top-notch client services support and how it can transform businesses

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in native-level German and English. Additional languages are a plus.

  • Advanced knowledge in web, networking and software products

  • Fundamental experience with writing documentation both for customer and internal purposes

  • Great understanding of the software development process and a profound overview of current development stacks (Databases, HTML, CSS, etc.)

  • Basic understanding about project management methods such as Agile as well as software bug trackers (e.g. JIRA)

  • Experience in Ruby/Ruby on Rails a plus

  • Knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML/CSS/Javascript) a plus


Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary contact for the candena customer base. Triage, evaluate, and provide answers to customer questions and issues in a timely manner

  • Take real ownership of technical issues and replicate customer environments to troubleshoot and resolve problems, file defects, etc.

  • Monitor and manage application and back-end batch processes to ensure application uptime requirements and SLA compliance

  • Share and develop best practices with team members to enhance the quality and efficiency of customer support and contribute to the knowledge base.
