Responsibilities
- You develop new bioinformatic algorithms that are needed for the analysis of NGS data
- You will design, implement and use deep data mining strategies on genomic databases
- You generate various reports based on bioinformatics pipelines, including a graphical representation of quality control and downstream data
- You develop and curate bioinformatics tools and databases
- You work closely with business owners
Your Profile
- A doctorate or master’s degree in bioinformatics, computer science or related fields with professional experience
- Strong practical programming skills (R, Python, Java etc.)
- Deep knowledge of database principles and corresponding knowledge of the query language (e.g. MySQL, NoSQL, AWS redshift, Aurora)
- Minimum of 3 years experience in software development in a scientific environment, ideally in an international company and experience with scalable cloud environments (AWS preferred)
- Knowledge of NGS data analysis (RNA-seq, DNA-seq etc.) and in-depth knowledge of relevant public and proprietary databases, methods and tools (UCSC Genome Browser, TCGA, gnomAD)
- The ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and corporate goals
